Native Plants of the Baldwin Hills

77 native plants have been found at the Baldwin Hills, of which approximately 1/3rd is now a State Park. Additions to the park are currently being negotiated by the Baldwin Hills Conservancy with funds from park bonds approved by the voters of California in the last 6 years.

List Editted by Rex Frankel, from studies dated:

February 2001, “The Biota of the Baldwin Hills”, vegetation study by Valerie Anderson of Marymount College, available at http://www.bhc.ca.gov/documents/cover.pdf.

This list also includes four additional plants found in the Vista Pacifica housing tract final EIR, dated October 1994. This housing tract was never developed and is now State Park property, located on the north point of Baldwin Hills between Ballona Creek and La Cienega Blvd.
